The main challenge for liver transplantation in India is the significant resource utilisation and its high cost, thus making liver transplants available for a few Indians. This foundation aims to help and support poor patients who cannot afford medical or surgical treatments like liver transplants. Liver Transplant is a very successful treatment; the in-hospital survival or success rate is more than 95% at advanced and well-equipped liver transplant centres. Though the success rate is high with the availability of expertise, very few can afford and undergo this procedure because of financial constraints and a lack of awareness about liver diseases. We aim to promote, educate, and facilitate liver health awareness among people of various ages, economic groups, and geographic areas. Apart from bringing awareness, Healthy Liver Foundation promotes and facilitates liver-related research and creates, runs, and manages healthcare facilities relating to liver and pancreatic-biliary diseases.
